I loooove how you always make ST's into this form of ART, it just always shows, the time and thought you put into it and I think that is the coolest. OKAY! I have totally added this to my iTunes as a playlist itself, changed all the album titles to Tonight Means Somewhere Far From Here :P This is TOTALLY what I'm gonna write "partners" to from now on. That prompt I gave you? Was totally what was helping me write the fic.

I think you caught all the best portions of the lyrics up there, by "best" I mean they're all SO APT to this whole theme I have running through my mind. Overall thoughts: I really like how you chose songs that SOUND perfect; they really set the mood and tone. Also, the lyrics are GREAT, beginning to end. This mix was fun and poignant at the same time, which I really like. It wasn't like, SUPER angsty like, we can't be together! It was all - we met as strangers in another country, hooked up, and now let's run away together.

1. I'd Rather Dance With You - Kings of Convenience

SO right. I like how it starts kind of upbeat and easy.

2. Southern Girl - Incubus

"So come outside and walk with me / We'll try each other on to see if we fit" AHH SO GOOD as the second song! It's like - first song - they meet in this public place. Second song, they go away to some quiet plcae and just discover each other.

3. Sleep Tonight - Stars

Introspective song! At least, it feels that way, mood-wise. I LIKE!

4. We Looked Like Giants - Death Cab for Cutie

LOVE Death Cab, I mean, DC is always a nice touch to a mix, and I love that you included a song by them. AND there are so many great songs by them, this was a seriously good pick.

5. Hard to Beat - Hard-Fi

I love this song, but I hadn't listened to it in a really long time. You just brought back the love back to life!

6. Find a New Way - Young Love

You have really good song placement throughout; I LOVE how it's not just like, random songs but there's this progression through the mix. Anyway, I really like how this comes on the heels of Hard To Beat. It's really upbeat, but not as Rock genre, so it totally eases me into...

7. Greek Song - Rufus Wainwright

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT! Another new song! And I'm always like 50-50 with his songs, and this was one that landed on the 50% LIKE!

8. Flying High - Jem

This was one of those songs I've heard before and was ambivilent about, but hearing it in the context of this album made it sound so much right.

9. Love Song - Tori Amos (The Cure cover)

I'm not usually a fan of Tori Amos, but this song is fantastic. It's got a haunting, airy quality to it. Very pleasant sounding.

10. Bonnie and Clyde - Martina Sorbara

Definitely my favorite song on the whole album. It's D and Hr's theme song in this whole story. "I did my best to drive you crazy" SO GOOD. Dude, what were YOU thinking of when you were making this? D/Hr? Leila/Dean...REALLY?!?! HAHAH <3<3 What do you think is the theme song? Was there one? Anyway - thank you for ALL these song recs, and this one has to be my favorite.

11. Beautiful - Late Night Alumni

Perfect ending. It feels like an ending, but just of a chapter, not the final the end, which I really like, because then when I play the playlist on repeat, it just segues perfectly back to the beginning.

THANK YOU, S! This mix ROCKED. It was seriously spot on in terms of the original prompt. I like all the songs, they're fun to listen to as a whole, but also this mix is just so crazy inspirational. EXCELLENT RENDERING OF PROMPT! :D :D

You KNOW, I don't know what Rufus was talking about in Greek Song. I mean I think I do, but he's just so VAGUE. But isn't it a sweet song?! I always imagine a hot windy afternoon in some desert town alone with someone you have the hots for. Probably you guys are lost and are just wandering around. WOW I HAVE THING FOR STRANGE PLACES.

That Tori Amos song reminds me of Regina Spektor!

BONNIE AND CLYDE. Mad love for that song! It sounds sad and deep but really she's just talking about this guy she's inlove with. And it also sounds forbidden. OOOOOOOOH. AHLAVIT!

Oh, the theme song? It was more of a theme setting. HAHA WHAT? I mean, usually when I make a mix, I plot the place and setting in my head. What happened to them? Where are they now? What do they feel about each other? And that's how I came up with this! And I have to tell you, L, HONESTLY, this particular scene (the whole getting lost or being in another country, just the 2 of you) is my favorite. Since before fandom! SRSLY. And I'm SO GLAD GLAD GLAD that you got the message. UGH I love that we're friends.

Re Beautiful. I know, right?! Like, it's the end of their night together but the "beginning of everything else". HAHAHA wow, cheesy. It's a season ender but not the last one.

Me either, but re: our Third Eye Blind lyrics convo, I don't get lyrics a lot :P

Also, I haven't looked up the lyrics to any of the songs except for really scrutinizing the little excerpts you posted up there b/c I find that once I look up a song's lyrics, it loses that like...untouchable, mysterious quality for me. I mean, I still LIKE/LOVE the song a lot, but that mysterious element to it, the feeling that the song will just slip away from me, is gone.

I LOVE Regina Spektor, and I can see what you mean!

Martina Sorbara - do you have any other songs by her?? 'Cause the awesomeness of Bonnie & Clyde aside, I really like her voice and style!

So all the songs here were so nice b/c they were about ppl running away together in a foreign place.

ME TOO OMG. Back in highschool, I REVELED in the feeling of ANGST. hahaha SHIT. It was this twisted enjoyment I had, feeling "heartbroken". For pete's sake, it was HIGHSCHOOL. I was such a Mary Sue. BLARGH
